Chickens
As you can see, we do not grow Cornish Cross Chickens (the white “factory” chicken you are probably familiar with). Instead, we grow heritage broiler chickens that provide healthier and tastier meat. They take longer to mature, but we think the wait is worth it.
We get our chickens in the mail when they are days old, and they spend the rest of their time on our farm. They spend most of it in the Chicken Schooner, a mobile coop that we move every day, giving them constant access to new grass and protecting them from predators.
We process our chickens on the farm, and make the trip from pasture to package as short and painless as possible. Our goal is that our chickens have only one bad day in their life, and you can taste the difference as your body responds to healthy food.
